ABOUT

The PM Committee was created in Sept. 2006.  The primary objective of the committee is to increase interaction and information sharing between small agency council staff responsible for implementing project management practices at their respective agencies.

This committee will help support OMB’s requirement that major projects be led by certified project managers, that projects be monitored and evaluated effectively,  and that Earned Value Management techniques are employed where applicable (http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/memoranda/fy04/m04-19.pdf,  www.whitehouse.gov/omb/memoranda/fy2005/m05-23.pdf).

Tactically, the PM Committee will serve as a sounding board for Project Management techniques, tips, and advice. Initial topics will include PMIS tools, Earned Value Management techniques for small and medium projects, Project Management Certification, PM training, experience with PM contractors, and Project Review Boards.
